I am an avid solo traveler and love to explore new places on my own. Solo travel allows the freedom to create your own agenda while also meeting new people and socializing(if you chose to do so) and learning about new cultures. Back in 2019 I took a solo trip to Belize to celebrate my 45th Birthday and I had an amazing time. My birthday is in July and the weather was perfect. I enjoyed a great island getaway. Belize is a Caribbean country which is located in Central America. A passport is required to travel for the United States, but there is no Visa requirement. Since the Caribbean is such a close destination the flight time was pretty minimum. I flew out of St. Louis Missouri, into Atlanta, Georgia and from there I took a flight to Belize. The flight to Belize was approximately three hours.
I stayed in Belize one week. I stayed in a two bedroom villa right on the beach that had breathtaking views. A private villa is always my preferred vacation accommodation when available. There was a front porch overlooking the beach and there was also a back patio off of the master bedroom. This trip was primarily focused on relaxation and celebrating ME but I also packed in quite a few adventures while on the island. The day of my actual birthday was great and the resort even decorated for my big day. This post shows some of the highlights.
The Accommodations
The villa resort I stayed in offered various options. My villa was secluded and felt very safe. I was able to sit out on the beach at night while being just steps away from my front door. I relaxed out on a hammock right near my villa throughout the trip. I also enjoyed some quiet evenings sitting out on the furnished patio at the front entrance. I stayed at the Villas of Banyan Bay in San Pedro.

If you are seeking a nice island getaway with minimum flight time Belize is a great option.
