This post will cover a solo trip I took to Bali, Indonesia in the spring of 2018. This is one of my many trips to Asia. I booked this trip independently after doing my research online. I was able to find amazing accommodations and locate some exciting excursions to add to my itinerary. I spent a week in Bali and had a great time.
I stayed at Villa Nirvana which was located just outside of the city of Ubud in Bali. This villa was located on a very tranquil and peaceful property in a secluded location near the rice fields. It’s a small exclusive property with eight private villas. Each with its own private entrance. The staff was very accommodating. There was a restaurant on site that served all meals and also provided room service. I enjoyed dinner via room service on most evenings but went out to eat during the day for breakfast and lunch. I stayed in a one bedroom villa with a private pool. The furnishings were very Zen and there was a nice outdoor bathroom. I was able to take a walk around and explore the small town surrounding the property.

Bali Swing
I spent a day at the Bali Swing Adventure Park. There was a mishap on the way to the park. My driver was in an accident. He hit a lady that was riding a bike. Once that incident was taken care of we made it to the park with no further incidents. We were riding in a cute lil car. As you can see there was no damage to the car from the accident. The lady came from out of nowhere on her bike. The driver was able to slow down enough not to cause any major damage but did bump her and she fell off the bike. She was very upset with him. I was thinking somebody was going to have to call the authorities but the situation quickly calmed down and she went on her way.
Macon Elephant Lodge
I spent a day at the Macon Elephant Lodge where I was able to bathe the elephants, and also had an elephant ride. This excursion included breakfast at the lodge and an elephant show. I was having Big Fun, until I looked around in the water and noticed all the elephant poop 💩 floating around. I guess they have to “go” somewhere, right? Once I saw that though I was ready to get out. I told him I’m done🤣.

Palm Reading
Tegenungan Waterfall
Some of the other highlights were basic sightseeing around town and a delicious lunch at a local restaurant known for their roasted pig. I also had a nice roasted duck dinner. Yall know I love to eat.
