Staying Cute During Quarantine

This just a quick post for the Fashion and Beauty Section of My Blog. I have not done many fashion posts during The Quarantine, since there has not been very many opportunities to go “out”, since The Covid hit. We are coming up on almost a year since I have been out for any “live” entertainment. I do however still try to keep it Cute & Casual either while working from home or just hanging out, doing errands. For me, my two main “spots” I have been during The Covid are the grocery store and Target. Target is my place!!!

I have been working from home remotely for about twelve years so working from home is not new for me. However, the video aspect of telehealth really exploded during the pandemic, so I know many others have now been introduced to this way of working. I see client’s daily during the week through my virtual private practice where I offer counseling, coaching and reiki. I also do some work as a public speaker and have being doing more of that work over the past year, as a lot of virtual opportunities now exist. In January, I was invited to speak at a Global Mental Health Summit. This was my first speaking engagement of the the year but I have already done several this year and it is only February. Even though these events are virtual, I still get dressed as if I were presenting in person.

If you follow me on social media or follow my blog you probably already know I don’t really believe in spending a lot of money of clothes. I am a person who tends to spend more on experiences (trips, entertainment, etc.). I spend my money to get where I’m going. Make no mistake that when I arrive I will be looking good😁. I just don’t spend a lot of money to do it. I also tend to keep clothes for a long time and will wear them even if they are not necessarily “in fashion”. I don’t follow fashion rules, I make my own (I wear whateva I want to). I do tend to have an affinity for retro style clothing, typically reminiscent of the 60’s & 70’s. I like the colors, patterns/prints and styles from that area. Up until I recently loced my hair I enjoyed wearing my natural hair in an Afro.

This outfit was very simple. I have had this one for years, I actually bought this lil dress several years ago (yall know how I do) . I don’t remember how long I have had it. I got it from Target for about $25 dollars, I think. I was drawn to it because of the colors and the print. I also liked the neckline and the sleeves which I felt give it that retro look. The rest of the outfit is all about the accessories. Again these are all pieces that I already had in my collection. I find a lot of my accessories online at various shops.
