Jill Scott is one of my favorites. I always look forward to her concerts. She has an amazing voice and always gives an outstanding performance. She has one of those real personalities that almost everyone can relate to. She does an excellent job of drawing the crowd in with her sensual lyrics and narratives between songs. Her voice is truly one of a kind and she does a mean jazz scat. She is a true vocalist.
I attended the concert in St. Louis MO on Sunday, February 9, 2020, and in true Jilly from Philly style, Jill rocked the house. Jill was accompanied by an all-male band and back up singers. She masterfully delivered songs from her debut album, ” Who is Jill Scott ? Words and Sounds Volume 1. She ended with “Living My Life Like Its Golden”, which was not on that album but is always a crowd favorite. Jill wore two outfits, a very cute metallic striped jumpsuit and an African inspired outfit complete with a “crown” and top that displayed her likeness on the back. There were praise dancers that also added to the overall enjoyable concert experience. Jill surely did not disappoint and I will definitely be in the house when she comes back to town.
