This post describes my experience with Skydiving. This adventure took place in 2012. I was sitting around one day and randomly decided that I wanted to go skydiving. Although I am an introvert and for the most part a homebody, I do have an adventurous side. I take the quote, “live, laugh, love” very literally. I intend to live my earthly life to the fullest and to thoroughly enjoy the afterlife and all that it entails. I love to laugh and many times get tickled by my own damn self🤣 (cause I am something else😉). Occasionally you will catch me in a laughing fit and it’s virtually impossible for me to stop so if you are ever the victim of one of my laughing episodes, I apologize in advance. I am the type of person that will be sitting around months or years later and think about something that happened and chuckle periodically for hours. Sorry yall…but it’s true. The last part of the quote “love”, I take very seriously. If I love you I will have your back always and if anybody come for you, they coming for me too. I keep my circle small but if you in, you in. Now cross me and you are on your own…
I am not easily intimidated by much. I love to learn and try new things. I have yet to meet a person that can silence me when I have something to say. I consider myself to be bold, confident and self assured in most situations. So adventurous sports and activities are intriguing to me. Now some stuff, I’m just not gonna do but once I set my mind to something it’s usually going to happen.
Of course the first people to know about this idea were my parents. My mother said “are you sure you want to do that, that’s dangerous”. My father, said, “Go Head Lil Girl and do it”. I discussed with a few family members and friends and invited a couple of them. They all declined. But yall know me, I will go solo, anyplace, anytime. So I decided to do my research on the internet. I found a place located in Festus, Missouri. Which is about 40 miles outside of St. Louis, Missouri. So I made an appointment cause I’m about to do this…I decided not to tell my parents when I was going because I knew my mother would be worried. So I did it and then came over with the pictures later😁. She was very thankful that I didn’t tell her until afterwards.
So what I remember about the experience is that I had to sign some type of medical waiver and basically agree not to hold them liable if I had some type of medical emergency in the process of having big fun. So then they had me participate in their “training” which basically consisted of the guy telling me the instructions of what to do, all I really remember is him telling me that he would give me a signal when it was time to pull the string to open the parachute and if I didn’t open it in time he would. They gave me a lil jumpsuit to put on and we got in the plane.
The plane was very small. There was a pilot, the tandem instructor (the guy attached to me in the pictures), I think his name was Jeff and a camera man, who would be taking our pictures(there was also a video put on DVD but I was unable to get it to upload). They attached the equipment while we were in the plane. The camera man jumped out first. When I got to the door, I looked out and for one brief second I was like wait a minute Stacy, what are you doing?…but hey I was already up there so I jumped out. Geronimo.

It was quite an exhilarating experience. The scenery was absolutely amazing. It was quite a windy day. I had my hair in two strand twists and they were blowing all over. I listened closely and pulled the parachute when it was time.

I jumped out of a plane by choice and it was amazing. If you are looking for an adventure that will get your adrenaline pumping Skydiving might be for you.
